    In just 45 minutes, we provide a non-binding and free initial examination to determine whether your eyes are suitable for treatment. We measure, among other things, your current vision aid, check corneal thickness, and assess your visual acuity.

    Main Examination

    To ensure the best possible outcome and highest safety for your treatment, further examinations are necessary. These will take 45 to 60 minutes and will help us determine the most suitable treatment method for you — free and non-binding.

    Treatment

    Achieve full vision in just a few minutes: both laser and lens treatments take only a few minutes per eye. Your eyes will be numbed beforehand with eye drops. It's a good idea to set aside a bit more time for the treatment appointment.

    Aftercare

    Depending on the treatment method, the aftercare appointment will either be the following day or within a few days. During the aftercare, we ensure that the treatment was successful and that the eye undergoes an optimal healing process.

I was super impressed by the optometrist. Transparently explained to me that for my situation, as my vision is only minority short sighted and I am under 40, that the likelihood of getting a better result is outweighed by the recovery period and the fact my eyes will change over time. That they did not try and pressure me into just taking the treatment was very refreshing.

Ich verstehe viele der negativen Bewertungen, die ich im Vorfeld gelesen habe – ja, es wirkt alles sehr durchgetaktet und auf Effizienz getrimmt. Man fühlt sich ein bisschen wie auf dem Laufband, und natürlich steht der Umsatz im Vordergrund. ABER: Nur so ist es überhaupt möglich, diese hohe medizinische Qualität zu einem so kleinen Preis anzubieten. Ich habe meine Augen im Mai 2025 bei Betterview lasern lassen – und ich bin jetzt schon komplett beschwerdefrei. Meine volle Sehleistung ist zurück. Natürlich fühlt sich ein gelasertes Auge anders an als vorher – manchmal etwas empfindlicher –, aber die Lebensqualität, die ich dadurch zurückgewonnen habe, ist unbezahlbar. Gerade jetzt im Sommer: Tauchen, Schwimmen, einfach die Augen unter Wasser öffnen – das ist einfach schön. Für mich war das Ganze absolut den Preis wert. Wer professionelle Leistung auf höchstem Niveau zu einem günstigen Preis möchte, muss eben akzeptieren, dass der Ablauf standardisiert ist. Ich bin dankbar, dass es so eine Möglichkeit gibt.

  • Can I go blind from laser eye treatment?

    No, in over 25 years, there has not been a single case where a patient went blind directly from laser eye correction. Other eye conditions, such as infections or retinal detachment, can occur even after laser treatment and can be treated.

  • Is LASIK treatment painful?

    A LASIK treatment is not painful, neither during the procedure nor after the laser eye correction. A foreign body sensation in the first few hours after the treatment is normal.

  • Which laser eye treatments does betterview offer?

    At betterview, we use only the most advanced laser eye treatment methods. The Femto-LASIK is the gold standard and the most commonly performed laser eye treatment worldwide. A Femto-LASIK treatment is painless, lasts only 15 minutes, and most customers experience a significant improvement in their vision by the next day. If a Femto-LASIK treatment is not possible for you (e.g., due to thin corneas), the Trans-PRK is an excellent alternative. For stronger refractive errors or presbyopia, a lens implantation or refractive lens exchange may be performed instead of a laser treatment. You can find out which method is suitable for you during a free and non-binding preliminary examination.

  • Where in Switzerland can I have my eyes laser-treated?

    betterview has locations in Zurich, Bern, Basel, Aarau, Lugano, Lucerne, Chur, Geneva, Lausanne and St. Gallen. More locations are coming soon.

  • What is the success rate of my laser eye correction?

    Exceptionally high. In about 95% of the treatments, no refractive error remains. If there is still any, it can usually be corrected with a second treatment.

  • What age group is suitable for laser eye treatment?

    In general, about 98% of people between 18 and 45 years old are suitable for laser eye treatment. Even for those over 45, there may still be the possibility of laser correction. However, typically, lens replacement is preferred starting at this age. We also offer this option. Which treatment method is best for you will be determined and thoroughly discussed during our free and non-binding consultations.

  • How does a lens treatment work?

    The process of a lens treatment is identical to the four steps of a laser eye treatment: free preliminary and main examination, followed by the treatment and aftercare. The treatment itself also takes only a few minutes per eye – afterward, you remain in the clinic until you feel ready to go home.

  • What is a refractive lens exchange and what are the benefits of this treatment?

    A refractive lens exchange involves replacing the eye's natural lens with an artificial lens (IOL, intraocular lens). This treatment method can correct high refractive errors as well as presbyopia (age-related farsightedness). After a refractive lens exchange with a multifocal lens, you can see clearly at all distances again.

  • Why does betterview offer lens treatments in addition to laser eye treatments?

    To restore vision and, with it, quality of life to as many people as possible! Not all eyes are suitable for laser eye treatment: high refractive errors, age, or a too-thin cornea can be exclusion criteria. With our lens treatments, we offer an alternative.
