In general, most 18- to 45-year-olds are suitable for laser eye treatment. The basic requirements are long-sightedness, short-sightedness or corneal curvature as well as a healthy physical condition. In addition, you should not have any eye diseases (e.g. keratoconus or glaucoma). Whether and for which laser eye treatment you are suitable, you will find out best in a no obligation and free preliminary examination in our shop in Aarau.
Most treated clients can completely dispense of visual aids. In case of very high diopter values, the eyesight may deteriorate again. However, this is very rare and can often be corrected with a second laser treatment.
The healing process depends on the laser method. In case of Femto LASIK, the healing process is relatively short and completely painless: most clients can enjoy significant vision improvement already one day after the treatment. However, it can take several weeks to months until the desired result is achieved.
A laser eye treatment at betterview always begins with a preliminary examination: during the free, no obligation 30-minute initial consultation, our team of ophthalmologists and optometrists will check whether you are suitable for the procedure. For this purpose, we examine, among other things, your corneal stability and your existing visual aids. In a second appointment, the main examination, we then carry out all the examinations that are necessary for a successful and safe laser correction. The treatment itself takes place on a separate appointment and takes less than 15 minutes. Depending on the treatment method, the follow-up takes place the next day or five days later.
During laser eye surgery with Femto LASIK, your eyes are first anaesthetised with eye drops—so the treatment itself is completely painless. Even after the treatment, you will not feel any pain. A foreign body sensation in the first few hours after the procedure is not uncommon.
No, in more than 25 years, there has not been a single case in which a person has gone blind directly due to laser vision correction. Other eye conditions such as infection may also occur after the procedure. These eye diseases occur very rarely and can be treated.
