No, in over 25 years, there has not been a single case where a patient went blind directly from laser eye correction. Other eye conditions, such as infections or retinal detachment, can occur even after laser treatment and can be treated.

A LASIK treatment is not painful, neither during the procedure nor after the laser eye correction. A foreign body sensation in the first few hours after the treatment is normal.

In general, about 98% of people between 18 and 45 years old are suitable for laser eye treatment. Even for those over 45, there may still be the possibility of laser correction. The process of a lens treatment is identical to the four steps of a laser eye treatment: free preliminary and main examination, followed by the treatment and aftercare. The treatment itself also takes only a few minutes per eye – afterward, you remain in the clinic until you feel ready to go home.

A refractive lens exchange involves replacing the eye's natural lens with an artificial lens (IOL, intraocular lens). This treatment method can correct high refractive errors as well as presbyopia (age-related farsightedness). After a refractive lens exchange with a multifocal lens, you can see clearly at all distances again.
